In the case of public telephone sets connected to manual exchanges, the coinbox (attachment box) was installed beside the telephone set. From the public telephone set, having inserted the telephone token, the operator of the exchange had to be called first who performed the reception of the coin by using a two-position key and switched the called party. With becoming the automated exchanges widely spread also the reception of the coin has become automated.
