The inductor is a small, hand-operated alternating-current generator. When rotating it, the current produced sounds the bell or triggers the plate of the drop-indicator relay, signaling the number or the name of the calling party. The elements of the inductor are: permanent magnet, soft iron shoes, coil, inductor lever, gear, contact piece. The alternating-current produced is ca. 15 Hz, 130 V. The number of turns of the coils is 6000, its resistance 1 kohm.
