The cable distribution head now in widespread use in the telephone cable network of the Hungarian Post was built in the early 1920s into the network supporting the telephone traffic of the Public Records of Hungary. (Budapest, I. Bécsi kapu tér 4. ) Its function: watertight closure of the distribution cable led into the basement area of the building, connection of the individual telephone wires to the cable, provision of electrical testing and measuring possibilities for the cable. Connectable cable: 26x2 wires. The cable distribution head is provided with a compressed air connection sleeve. In the case of soaking, the wet cable closure was dried by blowing in compressed air.
