Inventory number: T16 2000.20.0.
Year of creation: 1970
Maker: B.H.G.
Location: Hall 1

The desk-integrated, pushbutton-operated intercom system has been used by János Kádár (1912-1989), leader of the state party of Hungary. The 17 outbound or PBX, 1 paging and 2 secretary lines have been switched by means of the desk-integrated relays. Later on, the dial was replaced by digit keys. The system has been operated by KádárÂ’s secretary; inbound calls were displayed on this unit by light and tone signals. The secretary announced and switched the call to KádárÂ’s set. When Kádár received the call, the secretaryÂ’s set disconnected from the line, thus ensuring privacy of the communication.
